I'm back....

I need to use this site more. I've been dedicating a lot of time to my other site, which is mainly used to update family and friends who live far away, but I need a place that can be used more on a day to day basis.

Two really exciting things going on in my life right now.

Today I start bass guitar lessons from a guy at my church named James. I've had a bass for a year now, but I haven't really played it. James is going to be gone for the summer and I hope to take his place on the praise team while he is away. The church thing is kind of new. We've been going there for about 6 months now. It's a Presbyterian church.... we were not Presbyterian. It's been refreshing to get away from some old traditions, but still stay focused on the same God. Right now the biggest thing is that I don't have to feel guilty if I want to pray or speak during church, and I can play an instrument!

The second thing is that I am going surfing on saturday! I've been saying now for a year that I want to learn, but by now you can see that I have a really bad habit of procrastination. My new friend Sada came up to me after church last sunday and asked if I surfed. I said I would like to learn, but I didn't have a board. She said that wasn't a problem and invited me to come and learn with her. I'm so excited!

May 1st marks the one year anniversary of Eric and I moving to California. I loved Portland, but I'm surprised that I didn't miss it as much as I thought I would. Now don't get me wrong, we miss our friends a lot! And I miss Ryan and Jack, the two babies that I nannied for. But being in California has brought many exciting things into our life. I'm so proud that we made this big decision together and that it worked out so perfectly. The timing was right, our jobs lined up, and we found a great church. We are also closer to Eric's family which has allowed us to establish a stronger relationship with his parents.

So I know I've neglected this blog for a while, but I am ready to be back in the blogmunity, if you will accept me. Leave a comment so I know who's on board. I could use the support!
