Life as I know it...

The not so daily happenings of the Arnette family dwelling on the costal part of central California.

Friday and 6:00am should not be used in the same sentence....

Especially if it is referring to what time you got up this morning. The good thing is that I am done at 10:00am and I get to go back home and spend a few hours with my husband before he leaves until 10:00pm. I am looking forward to his new job because the position allows for him to make his own schedule, and should be off by 6:00 or 7:00 each evening. Imagine, having dinne together every night? So far this week we have made dinner together ONCE. I wish I we could use our home for more than just sleeping... a place to rest before we're off to our jobs. Will California be everything we hope it to be? It is just a place... And I know it's not WHERE you live as long as you invest in things that matter (relationships, health, spirituality.) I can ramble on like this because no one reads this. I know this because I haven't announced it to anyone. It's a nice place to vent.

Not so happily ever after...

I just finished a book that was 412 pages long and I was LOVING it until about the 410th page when something unexpected and totally sucky happened! I was so pissed and angry at the author for writing the story like that, and for almost ruining the whole book for me. Why does it have to be so dramatic in the end? I feel the same way about the new Harry Potter book coming out this summer. If Harry dies in this book I won't even read it. How can he be "the boy who lived" if in the end he's ultimately going to get it?

Saturdays... Ugh...

My husband works every Saturday and I do not work any Saturdays. He will continue to work every Saturday as long as he is in retail. The result of this: I am often bored on Saturday. Today I made a big accomplishment and went through every cubbard in my kitchen to get rid of food, dishes, and anything else that we will not use and do not need to move to California. I feel much better about my kitchen that is now more functional. I have two more hours until Eric gets off... I think I'll waste some time and play video games.

A Sigh of Relief...

This is to a new start. And a PINK blog! I can't wait to see where things will go. The biggest new change in my life right now is getting ready to move to California in a few months. New city, new library card, changing my state residency for the second time in my life. It's exciting that we don't know anyone down there. I take that back, Eric knows one person that is a long time family friend. Horray for new jobs and finding the grocery store we like. There is a Yoga Center in San Luis Obipso that I hope I visit often. I also want to go to the beach at least once a week, as we should because it's only ten minutes away. There's something great about new beginnings, although there are many people and things in P-town that we will miss very much!
